The Mornington Peninsular lies on the eastern shores of Port Phillip Bay and just south of the city of Melbourne. This region, although almost on the city’s doorstep, maintains a semi rural and seaside lifestyle. It is an affluent residential district as well as being a sought after tourist destination. It is made up of a string of small villages that over the years have joined together while leaving pockets of agricultural activity between them. The whole region is close to the waterfront and it is a popular family boating and fishing destination. There are also many things to do in Mornington Peninsula with numerous beaches which range from calm water right through to wild surfing beaches fronting onto the southern ocean. From Pt Lonsdale at its western boundary through towns like Sorrento, Portsea, Mt Martha, Rosebud, Dromana and Mornington there are plenty of things to attract the tourist. These areas are known as a playground of the rich and famous and the price of real estate here reflects the affluence of its inhabitants.
